COURSE TIMES: Tuesdays 6pm – 8pm / Saturdays 1pm – 4pm
FORMAT/OUTLINE: Students will be taken through the basics of spray-painting styles and techniques and will work together to create a large wall mural utilising a combination of their ideas based on the theme of ‘Icons and Cultural Identity in 21st Century Western Culture’.
The resulting work will then be digitally photographed, where students will be encouraged to further the creative process by transferring the images taken to a computer. Using graphics software on Apple Mac computers such as Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop, you will be taught how to manipulate the images and produce graphics works of art, some of which will be printed for display at the exhibition at the end of the course. Some of the work will also be contributed towards the production of an Identicons Project magazine.
You will not need any experience with spray paint, just an open mind and a willingness to learn, develop and try something new. However, a basic knowledge of the creative side of computers and graphics software will be an advantage.
