TUTOR – FREEDOM EXPRESSED: MY WRITES
Born and raised in Hackney east London, Dennis has had a number of year’s experience of working within the local community. Starting out as a humble window cleaner, Dennis eventually went on to teach Graphic Design at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. His past experience has included him designing for Transport For London as apart of the Platform For Art project, Lewisham Hospital, as well as working with establishments such as The Imperial War Museum. In 2007 Dennis took part in the Black 100 plus exhibition, which highlighted the achievement of Black people in the United Kingdom.
Other experiences include working with other educational establishments such as Hackney Community College, and voluntary organisation such as DM Education and Training Services in which he works with young people around notions of identity and Black British culture.
Dennis is a committee board member of Amelu Arts an organisation set up to organise events centered on African culture, and promote cultural diversity within the wider community.
At this moment in time, Dennis currently studying a Post Graduate Certificate course in Teaching and Learning, at the University Of The Arts London. From their it is his intention to progress from this course onto the MA course in Graphic design at the LCC.
